課程的教學目的與任務
該課程在《基礎英語2》的基礎上,通過精讀精講風格各異的英美作家的文章,讓學生了解豐富的語言現象,欣賞并學習作家獨特的寫作技巧;提高學生對英語的詞匯、語法和習慣搭配等知識學習的系統性,使學生的詞匯量接近6000,能讀懂中等難度或中等偏上難度的原著。教師創設課堂語言環境鍛煉學生的聽說能力,利用課后配套練習提高學生的做題技巧,為學生順利通過專業四級考試(TEM-4)做準備。自本冊起,開始增加中英互譯的比重,以提高學生對兩種語言異同的認識,并為最終培養翻譯技巧打下基礎。學習的重點是高頻語匯的用法、英語國家的文化風俗習慣和作者的寫作風格等。
課程的基本要求
通過本課程學習,提高學生的綜合語言能力,具體而言:
1、語音:發音正確;較好地掌握朗讀和說話的節奏感;掌握語流中的語音變化規律、連讀、爆破和語音同化等技巧。
2、語法:熟練掌握主語從句、同位語從句、倒裝句和各種條件句。
3、詞匯:認知詞匯5,000—6,000個,熟練使用2,500—3,000個。
4、聽力:聽懂英語國家人士關于日常生活和社會生活的談話;聽懂VOA正常速度和BBC新聞節目的主要內容;15分鐘內聽寫150詞左右的普通短文,語速為每分鐘120詞,錯誤率不超過8%。
5、口語:能就日常生活話題與英語國家人士進行交談,語言得體,表達比較流暢。
6、閱讀:能閱讀淺顯材料以及Reader’s Digest,速度為每分鐘120-160個單詞;能夠在5分鐘內速讀8,00詞左右、中等難度的文章并掌握大意。
7、寫作:能在30分鐘內寫出150--200個單詞的短文,語言正確,能書寫基本應用文。
8、翻譯:能獨立完成課程中的各項翻譯練習,語言通順。
9、工具書使用:能熟練使用《英漢大詞典》、Oxford Advanced English Dictionary、Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English等工具書獨立解決語言問題。
10、文化素養:了解英語語言國家的主要文化傳統,具有一定的人文知識和科技知識,具有較強的創新能力。
