課程的教學(xué)目的與任務(wù)
跨文化交際能力包括語言運(yùn)用能力、相關(guān)國家文化知識以及相關(guān)專業(yè)的能力和交流能力。通常認(rèn)為語言運(yùn)用能力特指外語知識和外語技能，忽視了學(xué)習(xí)者對目的語國家的文化知識的要求，特別是靈活運(yùn)用已有的本國和目的國的相同之處，相似之處和差異進(jìn)行跨文化交流的能力。該課程旨在擴(kuò)大學(xué)生的知識面，對西方文化的不同層面有所了解，以提高學(xué)生的交際能力。在傳統(tǒng)的外語教學(xué)中,人們往往忽視文化的重要作用,只注重語言能力的培養(yǎng)而未能顧及交際能力的提高。近年來國內(nèi)學(xué)者認(rèn)識到外語教學(xué)必須引進(jìn)文化知識的對比，訓(xùn)練學(xué)生靈活運(yùn)用語言知識，更好地與外國人溝通，減少和避免誤解。該課程教學(xué)要求學(xué)生提高對文化差異的敏感性，更有效地與外國人進(jìn)行交際，為英語翻譯專業(yè)課程的學(xué)習(xí)和翻譯實踐能力的提高奠定基礎(chǔ)。
課程就中國文化和西方文化進(jìn)行介紹并作對比研究，授課內(nèi)容主要涉及語言、文化和跨文化交際的話題。該課程有助于增強(qiáng)文化差異的敏感性，增強(qiáng)跨文化交際意識，有助于英語翻譯專業(yè)課程的學(xué)習(xí)和翻譯實踐能力的提高。
課程的基本要求
本課程要求學(xué)生在語言學(xué)習(xí)的過程中提高利用外語進(jìn)行跨文化交際的能力，通過學(xué)生對交際與語言、語言與文化、文化與價值觀的學(xué)習(xí)和討論，提高跨文化交際意識；通過學(xué)生對文化現(xiàn)象的思考和討論，反思語言學(xué)習(xí)過程，增加對文化差異的敏感性；通過學(xué)生案例討論分析等形式的課堂活動，提高學(xué)生的跨文化交際意識和能力，達(dá)到有效交流的目的。
該課程教學(xué)重點在于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對英語國家文化的了解及跨文化交際意識，提高駕馭英語語言的能力，從而使其能得體地運(yùn)用語言與操英語的外國人士進(jìn)行交流，幫助學(xué)生認(rèn)識中西文化的異同，分析文化差異的根源，幫助學(xué)生深化對西方文化的理解。課程主要通過對比中國和英語國家文化的方法，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生關(guān)注文化與語言的關(guān)系，提高文化意識和跨文化交際意識，從而提高對語言差異的敏感性，提高培養(yǎng)跨文化交際能力。
