《基礎英語4》教學大綱

推薦教材:徐克容,《現代大學英語》精讀4(第二版),外語教學與研究出版社,2012年。

課程的教學目的與任務

該課程在《基礎英語3》的基礎上,全面開展各項語言技能的訓練;重點加強寫作和翻譯;強化語法、句法的掌握和運用能力;口語應轉移到較長的敘述描寫以及初步的分析和辯論能力的培養;廣泛閱讀,提高閱讀能力;借助構詞法,詞匯量達到新大綱要求的6000詞指標,能讀懂中等或偏上程度的原著;提高獨立學習能力,養成使用英英詞典以及對教材內容進行分析、判斷、評論的能力。通過精讀精講課文,讓學生了解豐富的語言現象,欣賞并學習作家的寫作手法。利用課后配套練習或補充課外模擬題,提高學生的做題技巧,為本學期順利通過專業四級考試(TEM-4)做充分準備。學習的重點是課文中體現的英語國家的文化和作者寫作手法。

課程的基本要求

通過本課程學習,提高學生的綜合語言能力,具體而言:

1、語音:發音正確;較好地掌握朗讀和說話的節奏感;掌握語流中的語音變化規律、連讀、爆破和語音同化等技巧。

2、語法:熟練掌握主語從句、同位語從句、倒裝句和各種條件句。

3、詞匯:認知詞匯5,000—6,000個,熟練使用3,000—3,500個。

4、聽力:聽懂英語國家人士關于日常生活和社會生活的談話;聽懂VOA正常速度和BBC新聞節目的主要內容;15分鐘內聽寫150詞左右的普通短文,語速為每分鐘120詞,錯誤率不超過8%。

5、口語:能就日常生活話題與英語國家人士進行交談,語言得體,表達比較流暢。

6、閱讀:能閱讀淺顯材料以及Reader’s Digest,速度為每分鐘140-160個單詞;能夠在5分鐘內速讀8,00詞左右、中等難度的文章并掌握大意。

7、寫作:能在30分鐘內寫出150--200個單詞的短文,語言正確,能書寫基本應用文。

8、翻譯:能獨立完成課程中的各項翻譯練習,語言通順。

9、工具書使用:能熟練使用《英漢大詞典》、Oxford Advanced English Dictionary、Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English等工具書獨立解決語言問題。

10、文化素養:了解各國(英語語言國家為主)主要文化傳統,具有一定的人文知識和科技知識,具有較好的創新能力。
