課程的教學(xué)目的與任務(wù)

《美國文學(xué)史及選讀》課程的教學(xué)目的在于通過學(xué)習(xí)和研究美國文學(xué)，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生閱讀、欣賞、理解美國文學(xué)原著的能力，掌握文學(xué)批評的基本知識和方法。通過閱讀和分析美國文學(xué)作品，促進(jìn)學(xué)生語言基本功和人文素質(zhì)的提高，增強(qiáng)學(xué)生對西方文學(xué)及文化的了解。以指導(dǎo)學(xué)生如何欣賞和分析作品為教學(xué)重點(diǎn)。本課程的教學(xué)任務(wù)是從17世紀(jì)的殖民地時(shí)期到20世紀(jì)末美國文學(xué)的發(fā)展過程及其基本特征。既要梳理出一個(gè)大致清晰的脈絡(luò)，了解美國文學(xué)的豐富內(nèi)涵，又要對重要的作家作品進(jìn)行較為深入的學(xué)習(xí)。

課程的基本要求

1.要求學(xué)生全面了解美國文學(xué)發(fā)展的歷史。

2.要求學(xué)生閱讀完整的小說、詩歌和劇本，在此基礎(chǔ)上，分析作品的主題、人物塑造、情節(jié)、敘事特點(diǎn)、語言風(fēng)格等，能夠?qū)懗鲇幸娊獾脑u論和分析文章。

3.要求學(xué)生能夠通過閱讀和分析美國文學(xué)作品，促進(jìn)語言基本功、人文素質(zhì)、西方文學(xué)及西方文化知識的全面提高。
